FAQs

  • Grateful is a Web3 payment method to make recurring grateful payments via subscriptions.

Grateful's mission is to acknowledge the value of other people's gifts by expressing gratitude via #GratefulPayments.

Nowadays, millions of people share their gifts on social media and digital platforms for free. From content creators to institutions and projects, including artists, journalists, scientists, and many others, it is common to find highly valuable content available to everyone across many digital platforms. The implicit cultural assumption that we pay to access things or information makes it harder to assign value and recognize what we receive daily. At Grateful, we believe in expressing gratitude for what we receive from others by making #GratefulPayments.

At Grateful, we want to co-create a world where there is more balance between what we give and what we receive.

  • Grateful is for any creator, project, business or organization sharing their gifts with a community and are currently having difficulties monetizing that content.

  • At Grateful, we believe that reaching an equilibrium in the way gifts circulate requires a change behind the reasons why we pay. Donations, tips and help put too much focus on the goodwill and effort of those making the payment, yet little focus on the value that is being acknowledged with that payment. As receivers of value from creators or projects, we believe we can express our gratitude towards them, rather than donating to them.

The way we see it, showing our gratitude through payments is an expansive force, it's an acknowledgement of something we receive, value and feel grateful for. It helps us look inwards and connect with what we receive.

  • Grateful wants those sharing their gifts to be acknowledged for the value they put out into the world. We call them "Creators". They may be individuals or organizations; they may produce or sell products or services. They carry out all sorts of activities that are in any way valued by a community. "Creators" are those who seek in Grateful a way to receive from their communities via #GratefulPayments.

  • Grateful is a Public Good and, therefore, freely accessible. It is funded in the same way it suggests creators worldwide do: through subscriptions.

  • Grateful proposes a new economic model based on the circulation of gifts and gratitude. We encourage Creators to ask their communities to support them through paid subscriptions, and we even assist them in perfecting what we call "the art of asking."

We believe that the mission of this project demands consistency from our end, which is why we finance ourselves in the same way: through subscriptions from our audience, without taking commissions or charging fees to any of the parties involved.

  • Yes! At Grateful, we consider ourselves just like any other Creator, offering our gifts to the community (in this case, a system of recurring micropayments through subscriptions so that anyone who wishes can use it).

Grateful's goal is to sustain itself through our subscribers, like any other Creator. That's why we have our own profile link, and anyone can subscribe and make #GratefulPayments to Grateful.
